For our ukulele kids lessons in Fukuoka we use an original textbook that was specifically created to help young kids (and beginner adults). The book teaches students how to play ukulele in an 'easy to understand' way while learning basic English with a focus on vocabulary and pronunciation.

Our kid & parent classes are very popular at PCM Music & English school. It is very fulfilling for our teachers to see a child bond with their parent through playing music and learning English together.
Often the child will look to the parent for support, however more than often the parent will ask the child for help. It really is a wonderful opportunity for both the parent and kid.
In this class we also use our original textbook, but if the parent finds that they are learning quickly then we also offer supplementary pages, worksheets, songs etc that the parent can also enjoy outside of the lesson.

For our adult ukulele lessons in Fukuoka we start with teaching the basics on how to play chords, simple melodies and of course relative English for that particular group.
However after these basics have been mastered then we really encourage students to choose songs that they are interested in. This really encourages the students and most importantly helps them stay motivated to practice outside of the lesson.
Of course we will always have recommended songs from a wide range of genres including pop, rock, Hawaiian, jazz, country, blues, classical etc.
For those students who are also interested in singing while they play, we also offer pronunciation advice and really help and support students, as we understand it can be challenging to sing in a different language.
At PCM Music & English School we take pride in caring about our students so that they can always feel comfortable and welcome.
